## What Patent Radar does

Patent Radar is a B2B SaaS that monitors patent and trademark records owned by
its customers (rights holders), continuously scans the open web for third-party
products and listings that may read on those rights, ranks the hits with
quoted evidence, and delivers a draft claim chart for the customer's counsel
to review.

Three entry pathways:

1. Start with a company. Type the rights holder's name; we pull every granted
   patent under their assignee, break each into claim limitations, and ship a
   draft chart per patent.
2. Start with a patent. Paste a patent number or upload the PDF; we extract
   the limitations, scan the open web, and return ranked candidate products
   with quoted evidence.
3. Watch a trademark. Paste a word mark; we watch UKIPO, EUIPO, USPTO TESS,
   and WIPO Madrid, plus live commerce, for identical and confusingly similar
   uses.

## How the agent works

1. Limitation extraction. Anthropic Claude (Sonnet 4.5) parses the granted
   patent's independent and dependent claims into per-limitation rows. Long
   limitations are auto-split into phrases that map to litigation-grade
   language.
2. Source crawl. Brave Search API (with SerpAPI fallback) drives the
   open-web sweep across the source classes above. Each fetch is timestamped
   and the page is captured.
3. Scoring. The agent scores each candidate against each limitation on a
   four-tier scale: strong, likely, partial, weak.
4. Evidence pack. Every row records the model identifier, prompt version,
   source URL, crawl date, and a SHA-256 hash of the captured page. The
   audit trail is non-optional.
5. Delivery. The draft claim chart is exportable as Word, PDF, or CSV. The
   PDF carries the watermark "Draft prepared by Patent Radar for legal
   review only".

## Tier system

There are four read tiers: strong, likely, partial, weak. There is no green
tier and there is no red tier. Green would read as "infringement confirmed"
which is a legal conclusion Patent Radar will not make. Red would imply the
same. The agent surfaces evidence; counsel makes the call.

## Legal posture (non-negotiable)

- Patent Radar sells evidence to the rights holder. It does not contact the
  alleged infringer, ever. Under UK Patents Act 1977 §70 (as amended by the
  Intellectual Property (Unjustified Threats) Act 2017), unjustified threats
  of infringement proceedings are a strict-liability tort. Germany, the
  Netherlands and Ireland have substantively similar regimes; Patent Radar
  applies the most conservative reading across all of them.
- Every output is a draft for review by qualified legal counsel. Patent Radar
  does not give legal opinions.
- The product does not maintain an API endpoint that lets the customer email
  a hit directly to a third party.

- Pricing is custom-quoted per portfolio, after a 15-minute scoping call with
  the founder. The quote is returned inside the working day.
