About

Built so a rights holder
can act on what they own.

Patent Radar surfaces evidence of likely patent and trademark infringement, then ships it as a draft claim chart for a rights holder's counsel. We do not contact alleged infringers. We do not draft demand letters. We make evidence, your attorney makes decisions.

Why this exists

The first time a rights holder discovers an infringing product is usually six to eighteen months too late. By then the accused product has shipped, customers have signed contracts, and the cost of doing anything about it has multiplied. The status quo answers: hire an associate at £400/hour to draft claim charts on one patent at a time. Most owners can't afford to keep up. So they don't.

Patent Radar runs the agent that an in-house IP team would run if they had the headcount. Public registers and commerce sources are scanned continuously; an LLM matches claim limitations against candidate products with quoted evidence and per-element verdicts; the result is a claim chart your counsel can refine, not a dashboard you have to interpret.

We deliberately never contact alleged infringers. Under the UK Patents Act 1977 §70 (and equivalent EU regimes), unjustified threats of infringement proceedings are a strict-liability tort. Building a product that helps anyone send one would be irresponsible. Building a product that helps a rights holder brief their attorney faster is not.

The founder

James Millett built Patent Radar as a single-founder bet, after years inside the pharmaceutical-intelligence side of Drug Landscape Ltd. BSc and MRes Imperial College London. Earlier product work: Drug Landscape, Cogniton (AI exam coaching at cogniton.ai), and ongoing writing on computational drug discovery.

Drug Landscape Ltd is the operating company. It owns the trading name Patent Radar, runs all data processing as the registered data controller (ICO C1940863), and signs every customer contract. The same company sells Drug Landscape's pharma intelligence products. Stripe processes payments under Drug Landscape Ltd, the legal entity.

Founding principles

  1. 01
We sell to rights holders only.
    Never the alleged infringer.
  2. 02
Every chart is a draft for legal review.
    Not legal advice, not enforcement.
  3. 03
    Confidence is tiered, never red.
Green, amber, slate. Three tiers. No 'infringement confirmed' UI ever ships.
  4. 04
    Provenance on every assertion.
Source URL, crawl timestamp, evidence hash, model + prompt version.
  5. 05
    Your data is yours.
We do not train on customer portfolios, claims or hits. Ever.
  6. 06
    No publicly named alleged infringers.
Statutory threat-of-infringement rules apply across the UK and EU.
