Why we never publish prices

By James Millett·25 May 2026·4 min read

Every B2B SaaS site has a pricing page. We do not. Here is the honest version of why.

Portfolio size sets cost more than seat count

A boutique IP firm running ten clients across forty patents stresses the platform very differently from a single-patent TTO. Per-seat pricing punishes the boutique and overcharges the TTO. Per-patent pricing creates a perverse incentive to remove patents from monitor. Quarterly negotiated bundles serve both, which is how counsel actually buys legal-vertical SaaS.

The buyer asks for a quote anyway

Heads of TTO and IP licensing partners want a number that lines up with their procurement cycle, not a public price. Putting a sticker on a page tells half of them we are too cheap and the other half we are too expensive. A 15-minute call answers the question they actually want to ask.

We are still solo-founded

Custom-priced sales are a privilege of the early-stage. Five customers in, we can be slow and deliberate; five hundred customers in, we will lock down a price card. Until then, every quote is a chance for the founder to learn what the buyer is buying for. Telemetry never tells you that.
